Graphing quadratic functions in standard form:
The standard form for any quadratic equation is y= ax^2 + bx + c, and as we previously covered, the parent function for a quadratic equation is y= x^2.
Important Stuff to remember When Graphic Quadratic Functions:
- If a > 0 then the parabola opens upwards, if a < 0 then the parabola opens downwards
- Always remember to make a chart substituting numbers for the x and y variables. I'm serious, never forget, Mrs. Zhang will slap you
- The axis of symmetry can easily be found by using the equation x = b / 2a
