Graphing simple Rational functions:
A rational function is a function in the form y = 1/x, and, since y cannot equal an irrational number, the denominator cannot equal zero. Using y = 1/x as an example, both x and y cannot equal zero, so the lines of y = 0 and x = 0 are the horizontal and vertical asymptotes respectively. Below, I have included a image that will describe exactly how to go about graphic such mystical functions, with one exception, they neglected to inform you to make a table giving the x and y values of the function; remember always make a table, always, ALWAYS, or else.......
